#WQWWC – Writer’s Quote Wednesday Writing Challenge – Farewell

This challenge is hosted by Marsha at Always Write.

Considering that the word ‘Farewell’ can have multiple meanings, I am choosing to post quotes related to friendship and missing friends in the time of the pandemic.

The year 2020 has been tough on everyone and it has not been easy to meet those whom we have taken for granted – our friends or even family. It could be someone you see everyday, occasionally for regular meet-ups or even a co-worker with whom you spend your breaks with. This post is dedicated to friendships and relationships that last no matter the circumstance and distance, but to whom we have said ‘Farewell’ for whatever the duration!

“A farewell is necessary before we can meet again, and meeting again, after moments or a lifetime, is certain for those who are friends.” – Richard Bach

“No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other’s worth.” – Robert Southey

In another view, I also think saying ‘Farewell’ to 2020, and welcoming 2021 is something that is on everyone’s mind. So here are some quotes to think about.

  2. Hi dear Namrata, I’m so glad I found your post!! I found it from your retweet. This is lovely. “This post is dedicated to friendships and relationships that last no matter the circumstance and distance, but to whom we have said ‘Farewell’ for whatever the duration!” I’m sad that we have had to say Farewell to some of our friends. I’m loving Zoom so that we can reconnect in a different way, but it is not the same as a touch on the shoulder or a hug when we need it.

The link that you used is to my page, #WQWWC, and I don’t get notification from page links. I just learned that from Hugh Roberts.

Next time to reach me, be sure to ping back to my post. The post for this week is on a guest blogger’s blog. https://adayinthebrine.wordpress.com/2020/12/30/the-journey-is-a-state-of-mind-guest-hosting-for-wqwwc-5-new-beginnings/. You can reach the post from the links on that list you found.

Your post is an excellent response to quotations, and I will mention it next week in my post next week.

Lots of love and Happy New Year, Namrata.
