Read an Excerpt:

Emily stepped back from him and shook her head. “Oh, you know damn well what I mean. You know what, Derek? I’m done having this conversation with you. I’m so done with this conversation and I’m so done with you,” Emily spat out angrily before brushing past him.

“Emily, wait,” Derek said, catching her by her arm. “Where are you going?”

Emily spun around and gave him a bitter look before looking down at his hand gripping her arm. “Leave my arm,” she said in a low yet threatening voice, “And why do you care where I’m going? It’s none of your business.”

Derek didn’t leave her arm in spite of her warning and said, “Em, you’ve had too many drinks. You can’t drive in this condition. I’ll drop you home.”

Emily jerked her arm free from his grasp and replied in a bitter voice, “Thank you, but no. I’m perfectly capable of getting myself home on my own. I don’t need you to drop me home. Do you get it, Derek Thorpe? I DON’T NEED YOU!” Emily yelled the last words, causing a few people to look their way.

About the Author:

Veronica Thatcher is an exciting new contemporary romance author. Ever since she was very young, she’s dreamed of becoming a doctor when she grew up. While still forging ahead with that, majoring in pre-med in college, she unwittingly stumbled upon a new dream—becoming a published author. Some may call her an introvert or a wallflower, but she has always found she could express herself better in written, rather than spoken, words. However, never in her wildest dreams had she envisioned she would pursue writing as a prospective career, not just a hobby. Her love for writing goes hand-in-hand with her love for a good romance novel—whether it be a feel-good, sweet romance or a dark, suspenseful one. When she’s not studying, reading, or writing, she is usually found blasting her favourite songs, sometimes singing and dancing along to them.  She dabbles in a number of activities, including painting, karate, singing and dancing. She is a huge chocoholic – probably the biggest – and she is an ice-cream junkie too. She considers herself technologically handicapped forever and has no shame in admitting that. She also deems chocolates her boyfriend, Patrick Dempsey the love of her life, and Friends her life!

Her first book, A Way Back Into Love, is slated for release in February 2017, and she hopes readers will enjoy it as much as she enjoyed writing it. You can reach Veronica through Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, Wattpad and Gmail.

Book Review: Jesper Jinx’s Best Friend (Jesper Jinx #6) by Marko Kitti

About the Book:

Jesper Jinx's Best Friend (Jesper Jinx, #6)

Jesper Jinx is eleven, and probably the unluckiest person in all of Puffington Hill. Everything he touches seems to end up in sweet disaster. Hence his nickname ‘Jinx’.

Every great hero needs a sidekick who’s ready to laugh at their silly antics. And Oliver has been just that for Jesper on countless pranks since the day they were born. But now Jesper’s sister Melinda has set her sights on Oliver and even worse, he doesn’t seem to mind.

Add to this horrible dilemma the fact that there is a heatwave in Puffington Hill. The air is now so hot that birds are falling from the trees and grandpas and grandmas are forced to wear bikinis. It all adds up to sweet disaster for Jesper.

How far is he willing to go to save his friendship with Oliver?

My Thoughts:

Our very own SOS (Silly Old Scribbler) is back with a new story chronicling another part of Jesper’s life. However, I must warn you, there is a twist to this tale. We, along with Jesper, are given some extremely shocking news, Oliver and Melinda, together, on the same side, dating????? I will leave the plot description there and allow you fellow fans to contemplate! What is going on? They are all involved, somehow.

Written in his usual casual, carefree style, the author once again brings Jesper and his best friend Oliver to life. This story focuses more on their friendship, giving us a glimpse into how, once upon a time, they became friends. Beginning with the day they were born and progressing until we reach the current day, we are also taken on a short stroll down memory lane, as Jesper remembers all the pranks the boys pulled together.

The story has a different tone to it which sets it apart from the rest. It might seem a little mellow at first, but persist and I assure you that you will not be disappointed. We see the boys as children, but we do forget that they are growing and learning new things everyday, having new experiences.

Sometimes even I wonder how the Scribbler manages to get all these stories out of Jesper, but hey! I’m not complaining. These are extremely entertaining stories and there is even the hint of the next adventure. There sure is a lot happening at Puffington Hill! So please put down your phones and anything that may distract you and read yet another interesting chapter in the life of Jesper Jinx!

My Saviour – A poem

Hey all, this is very different when compared to what is usually put up on my blog. Do not hesitate to leave your thoughts below.

My Saviour

Every day that we are apart,

It just makes me wonder,

Why do I rely on you so much?

What is it about you that makes it so?

We are but friends,

Two very different people,

And still it feels as though,

You’re the only one who understands.

There are some things about you,

That make you who you are,

A unique soul in this world of souls,

It sets you apart.

The slight smirk that is always there,

Hidden behind a serious face,

You attempt to be intimidating,

But come off as anything but.

Or perhaps I know you well enough,

To see through the façade,

The face that you show everyone,

Is not always the same.

A ton of advice you have to give,

You seem to care a lot,

You have particular ideals,

Break some of them, you cannot.

At heart you are soft,

A huge romantic,

You are not just my best friend,

You know how to make me feel special.

The fact that you never judge,

Makes it easier to open up,

You always know what to say,

To make it all better.

You hold my hand and guide me along,

You speak only when you feel it necessary,

You are indeed my guardian and saviour,

My best friend for life.
